Olios Management and Yo Maps Respond to Zambia Music Association Over ‘Budget’ Video
Olios Management has issued a formal statement addressing recent claims surrounding the music video for “Budget,” clarifying that no one from the Zambian music industry has reached out to them. The management firm emphasized that neither they nor artist Yo Maps have been contacted directly by any industry representatives regarding concerns about the video.
In the statement, Olios Management put it on record that there has been zero communication from Zambian music industry bodies or officials concerning the “Budget” visuals. They stressed that if stakeholders had genuine issues, the professional route would have been to engage them privately before making public comments.
The management further stated that they remain open to professional dialogue with all industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Their position is that constructive engagement, not speculation or media commentary, is the proper way to handle any disputes or concerns around artistic content.
Yo Maps also responded directly to the matter, distancing himself from claims that he had been approached. He specifically mentioned Mr. B Flow, saying he does not recall speaking to him about anything related to the video or any other issue.
The award-winning artist was clear about his stance on the video itself, stating for the record that he will not be editing or removing the “Budget” video from his YouTube channel. He noted that anyone who felt strongly enough to address the matter should have contacted him privately instead of discussing it publicly.
Both Olios Management and Yo Maps have now made their positions clear: there has been no official outreach from the industry, they welcome proper dialogue, and the video will remain online unchanged.
