Born & Bred Awards Make a Historic Return After 11 Years – Full Winners List

The Born & Bred Awards, one of Zambia’s most iconic and culturally influential music video award ceremonies, have officially made a historic comeback after 11 years, reigniting nostalgia and excitement across the local entertainment industry. Once regarded as the ultimate platform for celebrating excellence in Zambian music visuals, the awards returned in grand style, honoring creativity, innovation, and artistic brilliance among both established and emerging artists.

The revival of the Born & Bred Awards was met with overwhelming excitement from artists, fans, and industry stakeholders, marking a new chapter for one of Zambia’s most treasured entertainment traditions. The ceremony celebrated outstanding achievements in music video production while embracing the evolution of Zambia’s diverse soundscape. The reintroduction of the awards also reaffirmed the importance of recognizing visual storytelling in music as a key pillar of artistic expression.

Among the night’s biggest winners was Yo Maps, who walked away with two major accolades — Music Video of the Year and Best Dancehall/Afrobeat Music Video for his chart-topping hit “Mr & Mrs.” His double victory further cemented his status as one of Zambia’s most consistent and influential hitmakers.

Equally impressive was Drimz Mr Muziq, who also secured two prestigious awards, winning Best Dunka Music Video of the Year for “Akamusoli” and Best Radio 4 Song of the Year for “Single” featuring Jemax. Drimz’s success highlighted his continued relevance and versatility in the Zambian music industry.
