Sixteen people, including the driver, were injured in a bus accident on the Ndola–Kitwe dual carriageway in Copperbelt Province.
Among the injured were about seven roadside traders selling goods when the crash occurred.
The collision involved a private Toyota minibus and happened yesterday around 4 PM near Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in the Chichele area.
Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Pethias Siandenge confirmed that the bus, which had 15 passengers, lost control due to high speed. The driver’s loss of control caused the vehicle to leave the road, strike the traders, and overturn.
All those injured, including the traders, have been admitted to Ndola Teaching Hospital.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
