Miracle Impact Ministries International overseer John Nundwe, popularly known as John General, has recovered after earlier being reported unwell and has since appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court in connection with a rape case he is facing. The clergyman had previously failed to appear in court after reportedly collapsing and being rushed to hospital for treatment.
Last month, the court heard that John General fell ill a day before his scheduled court appearance, a development that was confirmed by his surety. This prompted Lusaka Magistrate Amy Masoja-Chilangwa to adjourn the matter to yesterday to allow the accused time to recover and be fit for court proceedings.
During yesterday’s court session, John General appeared in the company of his wife and a few female church members. He calmly walked into the courtroom alongside his wife as the matter came up for mention only, with the court confirming that trial proceedings will continue on January 20, 2026. The clergyman is accused of having had carnal knowledge of a woman without her consent on November 24, 2023. He remains charged with rape as investigations and trial preparations continue.
