Police in Mongu have charged three prominent entertainers — musician Moses Ng’andwe, popularly known as Chester, musician Felix Phiri, popularly known as Felix Ndangeni Inshila, and comedian Winston Ngosa, popularly known as IDC Light Comedy — with riotous behaviour and possession of offensive weapons.

The three entertainers are among 17 suspects who have been arrested and are currently detained at the Mongu Correctional Facility.

Western Province Police Commanding Officer Godfrey Mwanza confirmed that the suspects have been formally charged with the two offences.

Mr Mwanza said the suspects have, however, not yet appeared in court as police have submitted the case dockets to the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) for perusal.

The case is now awaiting further direction from the NPA before the suspects can be taken before court.

The arrest and charging of the three entertainers has attracted attention among fans and followers, as the matter continues through the legal process.

The suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a competent court.
