Mr. Dramz is a Zambian R&B singer and songwriter whose passion for music began at a tender age. His musical influences span international and Zambian artists, with early inspiration coming from legendary names such as Phil Collins, Bryan Adams and Luther Vandross.
As a teenager, Mr. Dramz developed a deeper appreciation for Zambian music, drawing inspiration from artists including K’Millian, JK and Danny, as well as the influential Sling Beats movement. These influences helped shape his appreciation for melody, songwriting and authentic storytelling.
His stage name, Dramz, was inspired by his surname, Ngoma, which translates to “Drum.” He later stylised the name as “Dramz” to create a distinctive artistic identity.
Mr. Dramz’s recording journey began in 2011 while he was a student at Copperbelt University, where he recorded his debut single, “Konse Kwenilili.” The song was dedicated to his mother as an expression of appreciation for her love, support and encouragement.
His musical journey continued to develop over the years. In 2018, he featured on a song by MMC, recorded at Alpha Entertainment and produced by Dice. Although his progress in music was interrupted at various points by academic commitments, encouragement from friends and listeners continued to motivate him to pursue his passion.
He later released “Nenze Patali” and adopted the stage name Mr. Dramz, marking another chapter in his musical journey.
His music blends contemporary R&B influences with authentic Zambian storytelling, drawing heavily from themes of love, life, relationships and personal experiences. Through his songwriting, Mr. Dramz seeks to tell relatable stories while maintaining a distinctly Zambian character.
