Francis Kapwepwe, popularly known as “Why Me,” has allegedly demanded that his former fiancée, Lubuto Musonda, refund money he reportedly spent on her during their relationship.
According to Lubuto, the demand came after the couple separated, with the situation reportedly becoming more complicated after Why Me allegedly learned that she had become pregnant by another man following their separation.
Speaking about the matter, Lubuto said she had already returned the nsalamu that Why Me had brought as part of their relationship.
Lubuto also recalled the difficulties she says she experienced while Why Me was missing and later after learning that he had been arrested. She claimed that she faced accusations from some people who allegedly blamed her for his disappearance.
“When Francis went missing, I was accused of being behind his disappearance. I was accused of getting him killed and kidnapped, yet I never did that,” she said.
According to Lubuto, she continued providing financial support to Why Me after discovering that he was in prison. She said she sometimes borrowed money to meet his needs.
“When we found out that Francis was arrested, I would send monetary support to him while he was in prison. I would send money every time he asked for something that I even got myself into loans,” she said.
Lubuto said the pressure eventually became too much, prompting her to end the relationship.
“While in prison, I decided to break up with Francis because things became just too much. My reputation was tarnished as we all know he was involved in politics,” she said.
She further claimed that the situation affected her relationships with other people, saying some individuals distanced themselves from her.
Lubuto said she subsequently returned the nsalamu, which she described as effectively bringing the relationship to an end.
She now claims that Why Me’s sister has approached her demanding approximately K17,000, allegedly representing money Why Me spent on her during their relationship.
Lubuto said she does not have the money and is already struggling with loans she claims she took while supporting Why Me.
“I don’t have any money, I have loans I got trying to cover up for him,” she said.
She further claimed that Why Me had threatened to take action if she failed to repay the money.
Lubuto has appealed to members of the public for guidance and assistance, saying she does not know how to handle the demand.
