HH Will Win 2026 Elections With Over 80% — Sturdy Mwale

Former Copperbelt PF Provincial Chairperson Sturdy Mwale has predicted a landslide victory for President Hakainde Hichilema and the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) in the 2026 General Elections, saying the party is poised to secure more than 80 percent of the vote.

Speaking in an interview with ZNBC News, Mwale said the opposition, particularly the Patriotic Front (PF), is in disarray and lacks direction, making it incapable of mounting a serious challenge against the ruling party.

Mwale attributed the opposition’s weakness to internal confusion, leadership struggles, and what he described as an unhealthy scramble for presidential ambition among its members. He said Zambians have gradually lost confidence in the PF due to its failure to reorganize and present a credible alternative government.

According to Mwale, the UPND’s organisational strength and responsiveness to the needs of citizens have positioned it favourably ahead of the next polls. He argued that President Hichilema’s administration has demonstrated focus and stability, which continues to resonate with the electorate.

He further ruled out any chance of a PF comeback, describing the former ruling party as one that has “lost everything” due to poor administration, infighting, and lack of clear leadership.

Mwale, who recently defected from the PF, said he will soon publicly announce his next political move, although he stopped short of confirming whether he will officially join the UPND.
