A Lusaka man has divorced his wife after learning that she appeared dancing in a music video by Zambian artiste Chile One Mr Zambia, claiming her conduct in the video was inappropriate.
Kelvin Muzunda, 28, of Mtendere Township, told the Chelstone Local Court that he only discovered his wife had participated in the music video after a friend sent him a link showing her appearance.
The case involves Precious Mutetwa, 25, a hairdresser from Kalingalinga, who initially approached the court seeking reconciliation following their separation. However, when attempts to resolve the matter failed, she later filed for divorce, citing ongoing misunderstandings in the marriage.
According to her testimony, the couple had only been married for seven months, having tied the knot in April 2025.
“I’m 25 years old, I live in Kalingalinga and I’m a hairdresser. He is my husband,” Mutetwa told the court as she explained the circumstances surrounding their troubled marriage.
During proceedings, Muzunda said he was shocked to see his wife dancing and drinking alcohol in the music video, describing the behavior as unacceptable for a married woman.
The matter highlights the growing intersection between social media, entertainment culture, and personal relationships, as music videos and viral content continue to influence public perceptions and private disputes.
