Zambian Breweries Slashes Prices

Zambian Breweries Plc has announced price reductions on selected products within its Mosi and Eagle ranges, including Mosi, Mosi Light, Eagle and Eagle Extra.
The revised prices are as follows: Mosi 750ml RGB has been reduced from K275 to K240; Mosi Light 330ml RGB from K280 to K240; Eagle 750ml RGB from K170 to K160; and Eagle Extra 375ml RGB from K225 to K180.
Zambian Breweries Country Director, Thais Cavinatto, said the decision was driven by positive developments in the operating environment in recent months. These include easing inflationary pressures, relative stability in the foreign exchange market, improved energy availability, and a more reliable power supply, all of which have enhanced brewing operations and reduced production volatility.
Ms Cavinatto noted that supportive government policies have also contributed to a more balanced and competitive business framework that promotes affordability, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability within the industry.
As macroeconomic conditions continue to stabilise, the company believes responsible businesses must ensure that the gains from improved economic and policy measures are directly passed on to consumers. In line with this position, price reductions have been implemented across selected products in the Mosi and Eagle portfolios.
She emphasised that the adjustments reflect the company’s commitment to responsible corporate stewardship and national partnership.
“When the operating environment improves, the benefits should extend beyond business and reach the consumer. This price rollback demonstrates Zambian Breweries’ commitment to affordability, our communities, and supporting Zambia’s broader economic progress,” Ms Cavinatto stated.
She further highlighted that affordability is critical in addressing illicit alcohol consumption, which accounts for approximately 72 percent of total alcohol intake in Zambia.
“When regulated products become unaffordable, consumers are more likely to turn to unsafe and unregulated alternatives. By ensuring Eagle and Eagle Extra remain accessible, we are supporting efforts to curb illicit trade, protect public health, and safeguard domestic revenue,” she said.
