Zambian Woman Found Dead at her Boyfriend’s house in Botswana

A 27-year-old Zambian woman, Nasilele Mukubi, has been found dead at her boyfriend’s house in Botswana under unclear circumstances . Police in Kazungula District have launched investigations into what they’re calling a sudden and unnatural death.

Southern Province Commanding Officer Moono Namalongo confirmed the case was reported at Kazungula Police Station around 12:03 hours on April 6, 2026. Mukubi was a resident of Katoya Village in Chief Sekute’s area, Kazungula District.

Mukubi had traveled to Botswana on April 3, 2026, to visit her boyfriend in New Stance, Kazungula. She reportedly complained of a fever after arriving. The couple went to bed around 20:00 hours on April 5, and she was discovered unresponsive around 05:00 hours the next morning.

Botswana Police first responded to the scene, conducted an inspection, and documented the incident. Preliminary findings suggest no foul play was involved. Her body was taken to Kasane Hospital where a doctor certified the death.

Zambian police from Kazungula also inspected the scene and the body, confirming no visible injuries were found. Mukubi’s body is being kept in the mortuary awaiting a postmortem and repatriation to Zambia.

The case was reported by her uncle, Brighton Mwampole, 63. While early indications point away from foul play, authorities say investigations are still ongoing to establish the exact cause of death.
