Copper Queens head coach Nora Häuptle has left her position after reaching a mutual separation agreement with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).
FAZ General Secretary Charles Chakatazya confirmed the development in a statement, saying the decision was reached following a meeting between the association and Häuptle’s representatives. Chakatazya said both parties agreed that separating was in the interest of progress for both sides, while thanking the Swiss coach for her contribution to Zambian football and wishing her well in her future endeavours.
Häuptle was appointed Copper Queens coach on January 24, 2025, on a three-year contract. FAZ has not disclosed the circumstances that led to the mutual separation.
With assignments coming up in the next few weeks, FAZ has confirmed that assistant coach Charles Haalubono will take charge of the Copper Queens on an interim basis. The association says it will announce longer-term arrangements in due course.
