Mtendere East, Lusaka — A storm of betrayal and shame unfolded in Matero Local Court when a 29-year-old man, Kennedy Mwenda, confessed to abandoning his home after stumbling upon a shocking nude picture of another man on his wife’s phone.
Mwenda, already entangled in scandal after impregnating his own sister-in-law, told the court that his wife, Emelda Muyunda, 28, was flirting with another man on WhatsApp.
> “She replied to his nude photo saying ‘ioneka mushe, niyikulu zoona’ (it looks nice, it’s really big). That’s when I realized she was entertaining another lover,” Mwenda bitterly revealed.
The marriage, solemnized in 2022 and blessed with a two-year-old daughter, had already been shaken to its core by infidelity, accusations of witchcraft, and endless quarrels.
Mwenda shockingly admitted that constant nagging from Emelda drove him into the arms of her younger sister, leading to the pregnancy that now haunts the family. He further claimed that Emelda used love charms on his clothes and even his underwear to “tie him down.”
But Emelda, in her fiery testimony, painted Mwenda as a relentless womanizer who wrecked her family and humiliated her beyond repair.
> “I only enjoyed this marriage for two months. He impregnated my 15-year-old sister, then started chasing my neighbor, and later Bridget in Misisi. Even when I forgave him, he would run back to his lovers. He stopped giving me money. I am done,” she declared.
The scandalous revelations left the court with little sympathy for Mwenda. Magistrate Lewis Mumba dissolved the marriage, ordering Mwenda to compensate Emelda with K6,000 and provide K500 monthly support for their daughter. Custody of the child was awarded to Emelda.
The courtroom drama ended with whispers and gasps from onlookers—another Mtendere love story that collapsed under the weight of secrets, betrayals, and forbidden desires.
