ECZ Prepares for 2026 Constituency Delimitation
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has announced that it is in the final stages of preparations to conduct the delimitation of constituencies ahead of the 2026 General Election.
In a statement issued to ZNBC News, ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro confirmed that the exercise will be carried out in accordance with the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Act No. 13 of 2025. He emphasized that the process will involve full engagement with key stakeholders and the general public to ensure transparency and inclusiveness.
Mr. Kasaro further disclosed that the constituency delimitation exercise is expected to be completed before the certification of the Register of Voters, which is scheduled for April 30, 2026, in line with the official 2026 General Election Roadmap.
He assured stakeholders that the Commission is treating the exercise with urgency to ensure it is concluded within the stipulated timeframe. The ECZ has also committed to continuous stakeholder engagement and timely updates as the process progresses.
