DOWNLOAD: Full List of Newly Recruited Health Workers

The list of newly recruited health workers is now out. Following a brief postponement, the names were published today, Sunday 13 April 2026, in the _Times of Zambia_ and _Zambia Daily Mail_ as confirmed by the Ministry of Information and Media.

The publication covers 3,205 health workers recruited from the 2023 database. According to the Civil Service Commission, the successful candidates include 240 medical doctors, 997 nurses, 194 registered midwifery nurses, 390 clinical officers, and 138 environmental health staff, alongside other critical cadres.

Ministry of Information Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana had earlier explained that an “unforeseen technical fault” at the two state-owned newspapers forced the shift from the original 10 April publication date. He assured prospective recruits that the integrity of the recruitment process remained intact despite the delay.

Civil Service Commission Chairperson Dr. Choolwe Beyani said the release of names marks the conclusion of the exercise and demonstrates government’s commitment to strengthening human resources in the health sector. The recruits are expected to be deployed across the country to help reduce staffing gaps.

This release is separate from the ongoing 2025 recruitment process. Health Minister Alex Katakwe told Parliament that an additional 210 medical doctors are set to be engaged once the 2025 process concludes, building on 277 doctors employed in 2023 and 450 in 2024.

Members of the public and applicants can now check the 13 April 2026 editions of the _Times of Zambia_ and _Zambia Daily Mail_ for the full list of successful candidates. Government has advised applicants to use only the official newspaper publication to verify results.
